Rachel Gunn

Science & Ecology

Rachel (aka Dr Gunn) is a behavioural ecologist, specialising in coral reefs and fish. She splits her time between diving, data crunching, and dismantling barriers that keep people from getting to do science themselves.

Beth Price

Arts & Humanities

Beth is Breakdown's resident arts and history buff. Her specialty is gender in 20th-century China, and she's interested in wider socio-cultural history. She works to promote non-traditional routes into research in every field.

Our Story

Back in 2020, we started Breakdown Education to share our advice and explanations about how to survive postgrad study in a pandemic. After receiving a grant from the British Ecological Society to create CEADI Science, our first course, we set our sights higher.

Breakdown Education is a community-centered education platform, focused on creating accessible and educational resources for students and learners from all backgrounds. We firmly believe that traditional education and research is too narrow and too restricted, and we are working to change that.
